Sunday News Roundup

Judge William Rehnquist died yesterday. And all the liberals are wicked scared.

New Orleans left to the dead and dying is a chilling read.

Anne Rice speaks about losing New Orleans in a NY Times piece. Here's a bit:
To my country I want to say this: During this crisis you failed us. You looked down on us; you dismissed our victims; you dismissed us. You want our Jazz Fest, you want our Mardi Gras, you want our cooking and our music. Then when you saw us in real trouble, when you saw a tiny minority preying on the weak among us, you called us "Sin City," and turned your backs.
Even Camille Paglia chimes in and states that "the media is the confederacy of the dunes."

Flushing Out the Ugly Truth is an interesting read from Salon.com. Here's the tagline: "The horror in New Orleans has exposed the nation's dirty secrets of race and poverty. Americans are ready to help. Will our leaders show the way?"

Congrats to my brother Derek for finishing in 33rd place out of 718 players on Friday night. Several poker pros and poker bloggers played in a Hurrican Katrina Charity Relief tournament. Derek put two beats on Celebrity Poker Showdown annoucner Phil Gordon when they sat at the same table. Gordon finished in 31st place. Derek outlasted every pro with the exception of Gordon and outlasted all of the poker bloggers including yours truly. Full Tilt Poker is hosting another tournament tonight at 9:15pm.

San Diego Stripper Stabs Man for Refusing Lap Dance.... is an erotic news blurb about one mother fucking crazy stripper. Reminds me to think twice about rejecting a stripper the next time I'm in a strip club!

More stripper hijinks! Two New Mexico teens get an award for dumbest strip club patrons after they failed to understand the definition of a single lap dance. They sat through 41 consecutive songs each and did not have the money to pay for all of them!
